How to Reach Bentota?
Bentota is located 80 kilometers away from Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. You can take the train from the Fort station to the Aluthgama station. If not, you can also take a bus to Aluthgama from the Colombo Bastian Mawatha bus terminal. This will take about 2 hours.
There is a 177 kilometers distance between Kandy and Bentota. If you are traveling from Kandy, you can take a train to the Fort station and then to Aluthgama station. If not, take a bus to Colombo from the Kandy good shed bus station and then to Bentota. However, if you do not prefer using public transportation, you can easily book a taxi or hire a car as well.
Weather and Climate in Bentota
Since Bentota is a coastal town, it has a hot and windy climate throughout the year. Hence, the temperature usually ranges between 28°C and 30°C. May is the warmest month while February is the coldest month. Bentota receives the most rainfall during October and the least rainfall in February.
